A Tradition Since 1981
Briarwood's Auction is a biennial event dating back to the 1980's with a storied history of supporting vital programs and initiatives for the school. We take pride in educating more than 600 students in grades kindergarten through 6th grade from different social, racial, and economic backgrounds. Our school, along with so many others, has felt the devastating effects of the pandemic on the children that it serves. As one of the largest elementary schools in the Shawnee Mission school district, it is our goal to provide a full time specialist resource to support the building blocks of education in both reading and math. This position would supplement the current teaching staff in and outside of the classroom helping to improve classroom engagement, learning and, ultimately, academic achievement.
Our PTA funds are allocated for programming that includes classroom tools like our IXL program, academic enrichment including our accelerated reader and our state of the art Maker Space center, cultural arts and field trips, teacher support and events hosted throughout the year.
This year's event will feature a Casino Night and optional Poker Tournament to compliment our silent and live auctions. We will have heavy hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar and plenty of fun in our fundraising! Please join us to "Double Down" on a night out for our Briarwood kids.
This event would not be possible without the backing of our sponsors. Visit our Sponsors and Donations page or reach out to an auction chair to learn more about how you too can help.
This year's festivities will be located at the Johnson County Arts and Heritage Center.
