Our History and our Future.
This full time position would supplement the current teaching staff in and outside of the classroom helping to improve classroom engagement, learning and, ultimately, academic achievement. Our PTA funds are allocated for programming that includes classroom tools, academic enrichment, cultural arts, teacher support and events hosted throughout the year.
We take pride in educating more than 600 students in grades kindergarten through 6th grade from different social, racial, and economic backgrounds. Our school, along with so many others, has felt the devastating effects of the pandemic on the children that it serves. As one of the largest elementary schools in the Shawnee Mission school district, it is our goal to provide a specialist resource to support the building blocks of education in both reading and math.

Are you an artist, an accountant or a masseuse? We need parents, friends and grandparents like you! We are collecting items, goods and services for our bi-annual auction. Your donation can be something as simple as a gift certificate to your business, an hour of your tax genius time or an invitation to share lunch with you! All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Everyone loves to try new experiences. Are you a master chef? Do you have a vacation home in the Bahamas? Do you know a local celebrity or have access to something totally unique that Briarwood families could bid on?
